Air Travel - Zepplins better than Airplanes?

July 2nd, 2007 by Jackuul· No Comments · Uncategorized

With modern day materials and better understandings of air currents and solar technology it is possible to create a helium fueled hyper-efficient dirigible using the older Zeppelin designs. Think about it, with solar sides and a few batteries with high amp storage and some Tesla technologies long forgotten the Zeppelin could become the best ‘green’ airship ever. Think about this - with enough photoelectric cells on the skin of the massive airship along with heat collecting solar panels you could effectively have a full service ship with all of its power provided by the sun, no fuel usage, and no emissions. With the hot water supply cabs could even be equipped with showers and fully functional rooms for sleeping. Imagine, traveling by air in a luxury zeppelin.

The stigma about the Zeppelin design is from the Hindenburg crash, however the Hindenburg was initially designed to use Helium, however because of costs during the pre-war days the Hindenburg was filled with hydrogen, which is highly flammable. If it had been helium there would have been no accident. With these ships it would be easy to use helium, and the water that is needed during flight could be collected by the skin of the airship when flying through clouds.

If I were to become World Dictator you would see the Zeppelin replace much of the major aircraft used for passengers - in turn there would be less atmospheric emissions from jet engines and their fuel. Sometimes technology can hamper rather than help, and jet engines using highly volatile jet fuels is one of them. That fuel could be put to better use in military aircraft or rocketry. In fact I would comission hydrogen powered aircraft - which has an unlimited economically friendly and environmentally friendly output. When hydroge burns… water is produced.

Zeppelins are the Future.
