Contrary to popular belief the revolution for the United States of America did not stop after the revolutionary war. The ideas and the fresh new look at the world held by the new government of our oppressed forefathers inspired many others to try. The French tried. Later India finally succeeded in their very own bid for freedom from tyranny - socially, economically, and politically. Other countries have strong underground pushes toward freedom, such as China, Iran, and many African nations.
Today, we are faced with a government that has become to large, a tax system too complex (when you have to take a class on taxes or get damn near earning a degree to understand it - there is a problem) a tax burden that is ever growing from the systems of a depression and later wartime administration nearly 70 years ago, a country that is outsourcing more labor in record numbers, and an interventionist policy. We have become like the old snakes we fought to kill. We have grown too long, too big, too fat, too easy, and too dumb.
The revolution for the perfect government is not yet dead here in our United States though. There is hope, there will be hope, and through hope, through effort, through fighting for a just cause we can overcome the difficulties our nation faces and bring it back to true values held by one of our best Presidents. Thomas Jefferson saw that eventually this government he was a part of could become that of excess. There are several famous quotes in which he advocates the keeping of the second amendment, along with that the blood of patriots and tyrants must be shed to fertilize the tree of liberty.
Of course, I am not for one advocating a revolution that is bloody, but rather a bloodless coup in which our parties must be made to reckon with us. We, the United States Citizens, demand an end to politics as usual. I for one no longer care for career politicians, and by that I mean those who make a living off of politics and feed off of the process. I want bad politicians, ones who don’t know how to be savvy, and ones who don’t spoon-feed soothing views of the world. I want blunt men and women who have no experience or if they do, maintain their integrity. I want a Ron Paul for president. Someone who actually reads, knows, and speaks the truth of our economic peril, one who understands the rights of the states should be Equal to the rights of the Federal Government.
That is why I will not be ending my support, and neither should you. McCain is still short of his pledged delegate count by thirty one votes. Pledged delegates can also sit out a vote - meaning he could be short more. Who knows. Anything can happen, and if it is truly time now, rather than later, that we exact a change from government as usual… this IS the time to do it.
Now. Not Later.
Viva Le Revolution!
